Both Dodge and GM drove up the Gauntlet, with identical weight, same weather and driving conditions, same gear ratios, both had 6 speed transmissions and the GM got to the top faster. You think GM has neglected their gas powertrain? WOW!!
Better gas mileage thru cylinder deactivation is complicated and only useful if the truck is empty.
Yes, there is one hill in North America where the GM may be faster to the top by a minute or so because of the programming of the Ram's PCM. In every other situation (read pickuptrucks.com's comparison) the Ram outperforms the GM by a wide margin.
