The later 5.9's ran great and the 06 they even could run the Jacobs exhaust brake with the 48RE. Smarty tuners also made them even more of a good hauler.
Down side was the 4 speed tranny, only 4 gears and to high of a tune could be a little to much for em.
^^^ This. They both have their pluses and minuses. Pick your poison. If I were you I would get an 05 or 06.
The only reason I don't have a Goat in my front yard instead of a Bow Tie is the 4 speed. If Dodge had a 6 speed auto in their trucks in 06 I would have a little 6 cylinder to tow with instead of my big V8. :B
