May 14, 2014If those are your actual loaded weights, I wouldn't be too worried. I'd find a CAT scale, get loaded up, and get weighed just to be sure you're within or close to your GVWR, FAWR, and RAWR. If you're at your limits, just take it easy. From looking at the Body Builder's guide, you lose about 200lbs of payload just for the 4x4 option alone on the same truck. As others have said, all those luxury items in that truck starts to add up and subtracts from your payload. An addition wire harness here and a little motor there all adds to the weight of the truck. I'd still look into getting LT's though. The truck will feel more stable going down the road. If you switch to a 17" tire, you'll have better luck with finding LT's. An LT 17" will cost just about as much as a P 20". Switching from a 20" (33in) tire to a 17" (31.6in) tire will also raise your effective gear ratio to around 4.10.
