Dodge recall notice

I am scheduled to take in my 2005 model 2500 diesel in today, for its air bag recall update.

girl said, now which recall notice is it, we have a number of them going on at the present time. I had to read off my recall notice number, she said it would take about 1 hr.

then she ask, if there was anything else they could do for me on the truck while its in their shop.

funny,
they are good, never miss a chance to get more money out of you.

they are turning this lemon of a recall into sweet lemonade for their maintenance shop back pockets.

  • All you had to do was say no thank you just the recall fix is all I need taken care of.

They only "get money out of you" when YOU request a service to be performed by them and I think a service department is there to perform services and oh my GOD possibly make a profit.
  • Good grief....complaining about a service writer who is just being friendly.

Gosh, I hope that the next time I bring my vehicle in for something they are not friendly to me.
  • and they are NOT recalling the 04,05 Dodge Ram .. fuse box problems... the 9 1/4 LSD problems... and bed rust thru with 3 to 4 year old units.. front wheel bearing failure after 35,000 miles.

and the 7/70 warranty changed to 3/36 without notice..

How? you are bringing it in, maybe you need something else done. its the perfect time to do it! I call it good customer relations! its the same when a restaurant asks if you want desert after dinner. :R

Exactly, this is a recall on a 10 year old truck involving a third party sourced item. I would be happy that they are fixing it and consider it good customer service to see if you need help with anything else.

Man... we really have some champagne problems on this forum, don't we...
  • Your truck is almost 11 years old and Ram is going to make an issue right.. I would think, out of courtesy, or standard procedure, they asked you if there were anything else they could do for you. Doubt they made up a recall just to get you into the service dept, and THEN, bait you to spend even more money:R

Anytime I take my truck in, I'm always asked if there is anything else they can do for me and I take no offense in them asking. Same courtesy was always afforded to me from Chevy Service dept over the many years I owned Chevy trucks. I sure wouldn't read anything into it.......you pay nothing for a recall.....and no one is twisting your arm to have anything else done on your truck....
