dodge V-10
So I found a good deal on a 1997 dodge V-10 2500. It is the same as my truck, only it is an SLT model and has an automatic instead of a 5 speed. The truck has 131,000 miles. Are there any real issue...

Lancekeys,
I have a 1998 Dodge with the V10. Best truck for the money in 1998. I believe the motor and trans option was only 500 dollars extra. No problems except for 1 automatic door lock is intermittent on the passenger side. Tow my 18 ft boat with my 10 foot lance camper with no problem. economical gas mileage when loaded. 8 to 9 camper and boat. That includes launching and loading/unloading the camper. 10 to 11.5 camper only.
Highly recommend if it has been taken care of. Have a reputable mechanic check it out. The torque curve on the Dodge V10 is the best out there for a gas motor. Over 400 lbs at 1500 RPM. 450 lbs at 2500 RPM. I cruze in overdrive loaded at 1600 RPM at 57 MPH. Quick downshift to drive puts you at max torque with the 3.55 rear end. Horse power is not high for such a big motor 300 at 3500 RPM, but the torque curve more than makes up for this.
I'm keeping mine!
