- tinner12002ExplorerI drove a Colorado V6 for a while a company had that I worked for and in my opinion, this thing didn't have enough power to pull the hat off your head! I can't even imagine trying to pull an RV with it but as another poster said, Don't know why people want to get the least amount of TV they can and then expect it to do miracles.
- Perrysburg_DodgExplorerHere is what I could find.
The Colorado has a best EPA rating of 31 with the Ram having 29. So point to GM and if someone is shopping for best EPA rating this will cut into Ram's sales.
Here are the specs of both
For the Ram 209-238? L x 79-82? W x 74-78? H
For the GM 213-225? L x 74? W x 70-71? H
So it is a lot narrower would not of guessed that by looking at it and not has tall. But sitting beside my truck his was the same height at the roof as mine? Maybe he had optional tires? It was decked out to the nines and an awesome truck.
Don - kw_00ExplorerDon,
Lol I know right, they can deceive you when u see them. My coworker has one, it's a 4 door but standard bed with the 4 cylinder gas job. I sat in it and was thinking wow.. This truck grew up since the S10 days for sure. Longer for sure, but not as wide as an 1/2 ton truck. I just saw a lifted GMC Canyon off road model with the diesel yesterday on the road I did a double take. On a side note, I wonder what the fuel mpg would be on the 2.8 diesel verse the eco diesel that you have in the dodge. I'm thinking TFL will do an comparison if they have not already. The dodge Eco diesels are selling good around here in Florida. I have also seeing a lot of the GM midsized Twins as well on the road around here. - Perrysburg_DodgExplorerKW have you seen (in person) one of these trucks? The one I looked at and he let me sit in it was almost as big as my truck! We are talking inches here. They are nothing like the S10/15 Ranger or Dakota!
Fuel mileage is with in one or two mpg of a full size truck. As far as parking goes, some of you guys must have some really small garages. Heck my 04 2500 QC LWB Ram fit in my 24'X24' garage and could walk behind it with the door closed.
Will they sell them? Sure but not like the full size trucks. Again the Colorado is darn near the same size as my SWB CC Ram. At first I thought it was a full size GM until I saw the name tag it sits as high as my truck.
Don - kw_00ExplorerThe midsized truck market will grow in sales. Why, well several reasons; payload getting better, fits in the garage or better in city streets for parking, weekend warriors with a few toys don't need big trucks, most the the time fuel efficiency verse big trucks, cheaper to purchase in some trim levels, and I'm sure a few more reasons that others can add. They offer much more space inside compared to their former selves aka older versions. Now they're offering diesel variants so I see this class growing in sales. They also could make a perfect toad for those who travel full time class A and still want a truck. So time will tell but if/ when fuel prices climb again, they will be a hot ticket item. Just my thoughts guys,

My former boss needed a truck to use on his ranch property but he lives in Houston and wanted one that would fit in his garage. Ram, F150, and Silverado would not fit. Crew Cab Colorado fits just right. He loves it. - RobertRyanExplorer

I just don't get the whole Colorado thing! I stopped by the local TSC to pick up some ice melt and a guy parked next to me with a brand new GMC Colorado (had just left the dealer) that was just a tad smaller then my truck!
We started talking and looking over each others truck and have to say the Colorado he had was sweet! It is a great looking truck and sitting in it was as comfy as mine but you (b)getting a truck that is almost the same size as a full size so why?(/b)

That is what the " Global Pickups" are now. They seem to be getting bigger, much more car like ,with fairly hefty payloads. Whole segment is on fire outside NA - Perrysburg_DodgExplorerI just don't get the whole Colorado thing! Trailer life had a review of the new Colorado towing a lance TT. They thought it was great. Maybe more real life stories rather than speculation.

Par for the course in Australia. Only concern is the Duramax/ Transmission, has been less than refined is not the most capable Pickup around. I cannot see the US model being any better. - jerem0621Explorer IISounds like a good combo....
These new Colorado's are pretty stout. There is not very much mini in them. They are a long way from the old S10's and 1st gen Colorado's.
I agree though...go for the diesel if you can...although the gasser would do just fine at the cost of higher RPM and lower MPG while towing.
Thanks!
