- Bird_FreakExplorer III don't use them and see no need for them with my 5er or the mh before. I see very very few in the CG's being used as well. I'm sure the folks that have them will swear by them but my manufacturer said no need for them.

Why do you use them?
Are your slides so weak they need that extra support
OR is it because you bought them and now think they are the cats-meaow
My slides are well supported so no NEED for an aftermarket product
It's a shame yours are so under engineered that they would need an addition product in order to be used
Well sure Biscuit..Yours is better than mine and evidently better than thousands of others that use them and swear nothing but good about them, especially for RV stability in which they do wonders for rocking.
Now,why do I use them....How about 200 lb boys horsing around on the slide out part and it makes my trailer rock solid for walking. No rocking at all with them on...
If the trailers a rocking,it ain't mine.:B
See how I replied without insulting you back..Try it.. - Old-BiscuitExplorer III

Would someone please point me to a link that says that the slide out stabilizers ruined there RV in any way?..I'm sure there is somewhere but I can't seem to find one.If used improperly they certainly could like anything else..
I see alot of they could cause damage by those that have never used them but haven't seen a person who used them say, they did damage and there are many many who use them.

Some park models that had manual slide need something to hold the slide up so it does not fall out but over time these type of slides will leak as the slides don't settle the same as the trailer.
- hohenwald48ExplorerOriginally, slides were called "tip outs". That's because that's exactly what they did. They laid flat on the trailer floor and were hinged at the floor edge. To deploy you actually "tipped" them out into their functional position. Supports were sometimes necessary on these as the RV walls were not built to support the weight of the "tip out" and the occupants.
There may be some units still out there with tip outs but a modern engineered "slide out" does not need any support other than that provided by the engineers and manufacturers in their design and build.
Just like there is no need to use "RV" toilet paper folks still make it and other folks still insist it is necessary. - myredracerExplorer IIBad idea. Just because you can buy stuff like this doesn't mean it's okay.
Unless you have significantly reduced the bounce/movement in the TT frame when set up (stab. jacks + screw/bottle jacks + stab. struts + X-chocks), the slide out will move in relation to the TT floor, which it wouldn't have otherwise. A slide out is not designed to undergo this vertical movement differential. Watch the TT from the outside while someone walks up and down the entry stairs and see how much movement there is. - jaycocreekExplorer IIHere is a link to Camping World and 44-5 star reviews of Jack-in-a-box slide out stabilizers. These are what I use on occasion.

This forum could have been the wrong place to ask about slide out supports.Do a quick google on them and you will get reviews from people who have used them.Worth every penny. Why has it taken me so long to makes this upgrade, they take a lot of the side-to-side sway out of the living area on my 5th Wheel. They also help support the slides. These supports are up to the task, carefully manufactured, and strong, with a good base, and top that fits under the slide rails. Recommended.
We have a 20Ft. slideout, and when we are camped for more than a day, we use these. They really do take the "bounce" out of moving around in the trailer. Plus, they relieve the weight and pressure off of the slideout support structure. Good produc
I think you're right. I was beginning to think I had mentioned a subject that was forbidden or something. I appreciate all of the responses. I never really had plans to get any but thought I'd ask just to be sure . - jaycocreekExplorer IICrambo
