Does vehicles' navigation support towing setup?

I was wondering if there are some new cars that have integrated navigation and support trailer towing. Do you know some models that support this feature?

e.g. you can input the weight, height, speed limit, avoid features.

I am really interest if there are some cars like that, I usually use the in-car navigation and would be helpful to set this kind of stuff so it gives a good route that you won't have problems with tunnels/ bridges :)

Also, beside the model can you tell me if it is also easy to use. I would not like to have an engineer degree just to set up my trailer information and start a navigation :B

Any answer would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't seen any cars that have a tow rating worthy of hauling an RV.
  • I don't know of any new cars with it but I haven't been shopping cars. I know that Garmin makes a trucker GPS and an RV GPS that both have this feature. They are stand-alone GPS units, not integrated into a vehicle or into a car stereo.
  • I believe the trucks use a system designed for them that takes in more items.
  • I have not heard of any factory installed or after market in dash system that does what you want. One reason we don’t get the in dash system if offered. I bought a Garmin 770 for use in the MH as it does have RV needs features. My wife still uses a Garmin in her brand new KIA Sportage versus the built in system mainly because the user interface on the KIA is awful. (In our opinion)
  • Not that I know of although it would be nice.

It would also be nice to have something similar to what Cummins and Eaton are doing in the heavy duty trucking industry for those that like the vehicle to do everything. The GPS is integrated with the ECM/TCM so when it detects you are coming upon a hill it will automatically down shift or build boost right before you get there so you don't lose as much speed(and fuel economy) going up. It also does something similar on the way down.
