My conclusion is that the drain valve being an inside barbed connection reduces the diameter to a very small port. I've been tempted to try and replace with a bigger, outside compression type fitting. Some guys open their hot and cold line valves and turn on the pump. That really puts out some water if you are will to run the pump.
