We use a stick. The overall length is at the hitching height of the fifth wheel. The first mark is the length of the kitchen slide, the second mark on the stick is the length of the bedroom slide and the third mark is the length of the dining room slide. It's an indispensable tool for setting up and is affectionately know as our "calibrated stick".
