Dometic Fridge Gas Problem

I have a 2002 Keystone Lite Hornet. The Dometic Fridge (model RM26652) works great on 120v but will not work at all on propane. Are there any things I can check before spending +++++$$$$ per hour for a RV shop?
  • I've had to replace the control board on mine too with a dinosaur board. I also had to clean and move the sparker to the right distance and place over the burner to get it to light more reliability.

Service Manual to help you get acquainted with your RV fridge.......LINK

Thanks for the link. I tried various ways to find the same thing and was unable to do so.
  • I just had a problem with mine last month not wanting to stay lit when unplugged. Started with basics...clean/blow out burner and is working correctly again. I also loosened the ground screws and re-tightened them to make sure of good contact. Worse case happened two years ago, had to replace the controller board due to one of the tabs for the glass fuse being corroded and not turning on the fridge at all. Bought a Dinosaur(spelling?)control board and now I don't have to remove the fridge lite bulb when turned off and also provides a temp adjustment the original did not have.
  • Thanks for the info....We just bought the RV, so we're still familiarizing ourselves with everything (not to mention we're new at RVing). I'll check out the lines and vapor pressure.
  • We just had our 2004 domestic fridge Model 2662 replaced. DW was walking by the MH and heard a hissing sound. I ignored what she said. The next day, I was washing the MH and ran water over the outside vent. The water came out yellow. I went inside the MH and it smelled like dead fish. Freezer was up to 10 degrees. Cooling unit was shot. Replaced it with a Norcold. I suppose 10 years plugged in isn't so bad.

Sure it's getting propane? After storage, I usually run the propane stove top first to make sure the lines are filled with propane. Then try the frig.

You should here some clicking as it tries to lite the propane. If no clicking, maybe there's an electrical problem?

I once had a bunch of soot fall onto the burner so it couldn't lite. The propane was there, the clicker was working but it just couldn't lite. Maybe there's some obstruction in yours.

X2 on clean burner. Add to that, adequate vapor pressure to the burner (should be 11" WC), proper orifice adjustment to insure proper fuel air mixture. Still no ignition? Then you have to start considering control board problem.
