done an epdm roof with something other than Liquid Roof?

and not Kool seal either. wondering if this cheaper product from HD would work, liquid roof is $230 at amazon and this is $100 for the same size bucket. Anyone actually tried this?

  • If you are looking at replacing the roof reasonably with a new rubber membrane, contact Tom at:

    Tom's Borderline Bargains
    67397 US Highway 131 S
    Constantine, Michigan 49042

    (269) 435-5533

He sells the membrane for $8.99 a foot and cuts it to order.

He sells on Ebay and his website looks defunct, but you can call and talk with him. We visit his store in the summer. Very nice guy and sells a lot of rubber roofing materials.

    Is your roof shot?

Or are you trying to prevent it from wearing out?

Honestly, any thin liquid stuff you put up there is wasting your money and time..

I tried Kool seal and bed liner after the kool seal failed, neither product lasted more than a few months and started splitting.

I put a new roof on and that fixed my problems.

Not to mention the stuff you linked states SILICONE and I would RUN from any product that contains silicone if you ever have hopes of resealing roof vents and such.. NOTHING sticks to cured silicone, not even silicone it's self and cleaning old cured silicone is a pain.

Agreed. I used paint-on goo for EPDM. It looked great at first. After a couple years, it cracked and just looked terrible.

I recently replaced the roof. None of the work was technical, but it took about 40 hours. All materials - new roof, adhesives, plywood, new skylight, etc. less than $1000. It was also a chance to eliminate a bunch of potential leaks, I eliminated the antenna, ladder mounts, mostly useless solar panel, and relocated the horns to the underside - reduced the roof perforations by about 40 holes!

  • I use RC 2000 by inland coatings. Read their case studies...good stuff imo. Don't know if good for someone in business though...takes long time to dry. Got 1st gallon at rv part store for $87.00
Got more over the years at roofing store that handles epdm with commerical buildings at 1/2 of what rv plaves get for it. Paint brush versus roller...lot better coverage with brush.
  • Costs too much for businesss to lie, bumpy. Rightfully so.

    bumpy

right, but has anyone actually tried it? that's what I'm trying to see- if it's a good product to use on rv roof, and coverage/longevity etc. Actual experiences with something other than liquid roof or kool seal
  • Less expensive options may well work but IMO don’t go cheap on waterproofing.
  • Check out Henry 887 tropicool at Home Depot Good so far for three years.
