For what it’s worth, almost four years ago we sold our one ton Express van after having it over three years. The wife got tired of driving a one ton on a daily basis. We went to a half ton Yukon XL and replaced that last year with a half ton Suburban.
We sold the camper and tent camp or rent a camper when we want. With all of the kids activities (club soccer, high school soccer, college soccer, wrestling) we don’t get to camp often and it’s nice to have such a nice riding vehicle like the Suburban whether we are going to a home game/meet or on a road trip.
We tow a 6x12 utility trailer and even with the 3.08 axle it does everything I need it to.
