As long as you stay on pavement or smooth roads... see lots of "DRWs" lose their training wheels, up here on Oilfield roads. More and more service trucks going to SRW. If I didn't have to drive on poor roads I'd have a DWR... just saying.
I must admit that I got my 2wd open diff dually stuck in grass. It was embarrassing. My best friends wife pulled me out in their 4x4 f350. She left it in 2wd.
