I have a 2014 F350 DRW. I probably have about 16,000 miles on original BFG. I was thinking about rotation the tires, and while looking real close I noticed both out side duels were way down compared to the inside dual. I know I must rotate, but want to slow up this excess ware. I figure I probably need to lower the tire pressure on the out side dull. Just wondered what some of you are doing to keep the wear even. I run tire pressure at Ford's recommendations which is 65 on the rear.

We rotated at 3k, 8k and 16k, along with synthetic oil and filter change. Tires are wearing evenly and engine running smoothly.

Check your air pressure of the inside duals compared to outside. If outside wearing more, might have more air than inners. When not towing, I run rears at 45PSI and fronts 55.

I rotate my tires every 5,000 miles.

I never rotate my tires, but check the air pressure every week when not towing and everyday when towing. I have found that the outside duals loose a couple of pounds a week and the inners are always spot on. The only thing I can think of is the inners are on steelies and the outrs are on Alcoa rims.

On my 08 I only rotate the fronts at each oil change. I monitor the rears for irregular wear, and lower the tire pressure all around when not towing.

Unless you do your own dismounting and balancing with those expensive shinny wheels, it's cheaper to just leave them where they are.

So my tire guy does free rotations. I have been able to 80K out 2 sets of Michelin's. I'm on my 3rd set now.
I rotate at 10K or so.
If I can get 80K out of a set of tires . I'm willing to endure the hassle of rotating.
Dog you bring up a good point. How much extra wear does one gain by rotating?

This is a great discussion and have been undecided on tire rotation on my new Dually truck. I have Alcoa wheels too and assume steel inners. Have 11,400 miles now. Read so many posts of owners that do rotate and many others that do not. Have free rotation at dealer where I bought it. Got to check but assume balance is extra? Still undecided...

Free rotate and balance with my tires also. They do a triangle rotation. I'll have em done every 7500.

I full time and have a 2013 F350 dually. The original Generals have about 44k on them. The last time I had them measured, the rear inners had a little less wear then the outers. I keep all tires inflated to Ford specs. I just replaced the fronts and will replace the rears before I start traveling this spring. They might make it to 50k if I kept them but why push it when they will be marginal in the rain ? Costco here I come.

I do rotate the fronts but not the rears. I don't believe it's cost effective - the inners are on steel rims so they would need to be dismounted, then remounted - at additional cost.

Both tires/wheels on a dually are bolted together. They cannot rotate at different speeds.
