I seen that test on YouTube, The testers don't know what they where talking about. They looked at one Rv and read out the Max weight limit(12050), not the Dry weight(9800). And then claimed all the 5th wheels where around 12000 pounds, despite they where all different lengths and manufacturers. I looked up the dry weight on the other two 5THW and the one pulled by the Ram was 10700, The Chevy's was 9800, and The fords was 10600 pounds. I thinking of getting a tune for my F-250.
If you read the article, they evened out the weights by using sand bags to get them as even as possible.
On another note, at the truck and tractor pulls this weekend, in the stock class, Duramax trucks swept the top three positions. Same sled, same weight transfer for all the different makes. I honestly expected the Cummins powered trucks to win.
If you are talking about pure stock then the Duramax most likely will win. Simple reason more horsepower in stock form.
Saw similar results at a tractor pull a couple seeks ago. What was interesting it was sponsored by Ford with no shows. Possibly could not enter with them sponsoring the event. But in the dirt drag racing there were some older Fords. Never saw a 6.7 though. The Duramax was king in the dirt drag racing (400 ft track)
Modified a different story. The Cummins has a much stronger block thus can handle bigger tunes.
