thanks for all the info/replys...
I am not so sure on there is no dumb questions, I am sure I could come up with many LOL...
As never owning or knowing anyone that has owned a truck camper, I was thinking about loading and securing as one would a load on a trailer, or other types of items in the bed of a truck, like someone said the way truckers tie loads down.
Never though about the rubber mat, but that does make since. Sitting a camper on a rubber mat would keep it from moving, then the tie downs would keep it from bouncing on rough roads.
I still like the way the tie downs are on the 2 truck pictures posted prior to my reply(at somewhat an angle), that is more what I would be conferrable with. But then again I am the type person that if 2 screws will hold it, I put in 4. but now reading all the reply posts, I see that just a minimal/safe "tie point" on the 4 corners and a rubber mat, the camper can't really go anywhere.
I also do like the spring idea, I had read/seen some other posts about them as well as pictures online.
The rubber mat would act like a brake due to the weight of the camper on the bed floor, more or less....
Look I learned something today!
