Locally if I have a couple cans of stuff to dispose of, it is $20 after I drive 12 miles to the recycling center. That is because they have a minimum amount. Sure, they give the spin that 'you can dump a whole pickup load for that price'. This is why people dump a can or two here & there in the woods.
As for recycling... I had a couple hundred pounds of scrap metal to get rid of, around $20 worth. Brake rotors & stuff I had accumulated over the years. They wanted a copy of my driver's license AND my biometric information (fingerprints). I am very concerned about my privacy and my personal information. The individual at the recycling yard clearly had English as a 2nd language and explained to me that they would be the only ones accessing my personal information. Yeah, no thanks, I'll pass on the recycling.
-Eric- I believe in BC truck campers aren't required to have a license or registration, so no way to track vin to owner.....

I've got a better idea. I'm sick and tired of being forced to pay taxes for programs I don't believe in...how about YOU pay that guy's COST to dispose of his POS camper and leave the rest of us out of it. You seem like a good, honest person who wants to do the right thing. This is the right approach. Once, my brother was stopped at a stoplight behind a Cadillac. The Caddy owner dropped a bag of McDonald's garbage out his window as the light turned green. My brother stopped and picked up the trash and followed the guy home. Imagine the guy's surprise, when he answered a knock on the door, and my brother handed him his trash, saying, "Here, I think you dropped this." You hit the nail on the head- All the guy needed to do was post a free add on craigslist and it would have been picked up in hours! The mcdonalds trash looks like it was planted by the news station.
I live out in the boonies and people dump their trash all the time. We usually go through it and find their mail and re deliver their trash on their front lawn ;)
