This is the right approach. Once, my brother was stopped at a stoplight behind a Cadillac. The Caddy owner dropped a bag of McDonald's garbage out his window as the light turned green. My brother stopped and picked up the trash and followed the guy home. Imagine the guy's surprise, when he answered a knock on the door, and my brother handed him his trash, saying, "Here, I think you dropped this." As my brother tells the story, the guy was so flustered, he said, "Oh, thank you."
