Can you provide a link to back up that the 6.6 Duramax will have an all new HPFP? Until then I'll just consider your post another trolling post with always throwing something under the bus.
"The upgraded turbo and new intake bring in more air, which allows for more fuel to get those peak power numbers. On that front Chevrolet placed a new, high-pressure fuel system consisting of a three-cylinder fuel pump, upgraded stainless steel low-pressure lines, and improved injectors. The new injectors can handle up to seven injections per combustion event, spraying fuel into to the engine at up to 29,000 psi. - Grit_dogNavigator II

If true about the HPFP, that's potentially an outstanding change by GM. That CP4 issue really loomed large when I was looking at the various diesels last year. If they also fixed the DEF tank, the only remaining thing I don't really like on the GM is the IFS and truthfully that's probably not a very big deal - I just kinda like having solid tubes on both ends of the truck.
The IFS and the front end styling of my 09 duramax is about all I don't like about it. I always had straight axles and was concerned about the durability of my IFS until I nailed a lone parking curb I didn't see, hit it pretty hard/fast and fully expected to have broken something but it was fine. Still like the stance of the stock straight axle trucks a lot better though.
Just key the torsion bars up a bit, will fix the low ride ht. Plus, if your truck appears low compar d to some, the bars may not be indexed right. See a lot of variation in ride ht of the same model GM ifs trucks.
Agree they're tough as nails except the tie rods. Those need sleeved at least on the older Dmax trucks if putting a lot of power through the front axle.
I've beat the tar out of several ifs GM trucks and can't say they're any less durable than a solid axle rig. - spoon059Explorer II

Truth be told, I could really not care less what you think about me or my post. Truthfully though, I wish you would stop being so upset about anything not Ford related. I'm so sorry that a thread about GM and the Duramax engine doesn't cater to your desires to spread the good word of Ford.
As far as I know, there has been no official release of information about the new Duramax, therefore there shouldn't be any official word about the fuel pump.
I'm deeply regretful that you feel that my personal opinion, based upon real world failure to warranty a known issue with the Bosch HPFP causes you such consternation. I don't think that is "trolling", nor do I think it is "throwing something under the bus".
Such a sad way to complain one's way through life... - sparechangeExplorer

Just read article that Dmax is going to build a completely new diesel for the GM HD trucks.
- BudMan5ExplorerAs a former RV transporter for the northern Indiana based manufacturers, I have about a quarter million miles experience with tow vehicles.
Of the big three, all have decent performing TVs. I personally chose a 2006 Ford F350 dually with the 6.0L turbo diesel engine. I could provide reams of documents to show how that vehicle put me out of business in just over 2 years.
If you look at all the vehicles being used by RV transporters, the Fords and Dodge Rams are by far the vast majority. There are very few GM.Chev tow vehicles being used by professional transporters.
But, if I could design my all time favorite tow rig it would be a Ford F350 dually powered by a 5.9 Cummins hooked up to an Allison tranny. - IdaDExplorerIf true about the HPFP, that's potentially an outstanding change by GM. - fly-boyExplorerGuys- This is thread about the new Duramax- Right?
We all know the Ford and Ram trucks and motors are very good as well.
What's good for one brand trickles down to the other brands...
If it wasn't for Ford's 6.9 in the 80's we might not have had that great first generation (and great subsequent) 5.9's in the Dodge/Ram... and here we are 30 years later with three great choices!
