The V10 makes 85 more HP than the 6.0 in the vans and nearly the same torque so it will pull better. Even compared to the 6.0 powered pickups it's pretty competitive. With 10,000 pounds up a 7% grade, both will be in the same gear but the v10 can wind out more and pull a little faster. But much heavier or steeper, and the v10 will loose speed and downshift, while the 6.0 is still pulling in 3rd.
I have plenty of experience towing with the Ford 6.0 and also the Ram 6.7L. And lots of time spent repairing 6.0s. I'm still happy with my v10. In a van especially, when you factor in the lower HP, higher repair difficulty, and cooling issues stuffing the 6.0 in a little hood, the v10 is a no brainier.
