Guys - don't get hung up on the total distance he is raising without knowing how much he sags. If he is sagging a lot, that will affect the total distance. If he has a bunch of links taken up, or a a lot of head tilt, that affects the distance too.
To the OP - have you gone though the WDH setup thread that is stickied at the top of this forum? It will help you determine the optimum setup for your WDH, and minimize the amount of work you have to do for hooking and unhooking.
Also, it doesn't matter what type of WDH hitch you have, the problem you describe can happen with any brand of hitch.
