- MarslandExplorerSaw one similar to that at Quartzite out in the BLM area. Too funny.
- Steve_911ExplorerThat is hilarious...entertainment wherever you go...lol
- afraid_of_bearsExplorerWe have a smaller version that we like to take with us for chuckles. We usually attach a short hose to the post and pour some water around the hose end. We came back to one camp to find that someone had actually tried to use the hookup! At another site, the neighbour's DW was complaining to him about us having water and power while their site didn't. To calm the waters and save him more berating, I told her that they could borrow our hookups. I pulled it out of the ground in our site and stuck it in near their trailer. The look on her face; Priceless!
Good job there OP. I love your sense of humour! - renopkerExplorerThanks I have wanted to do this for some time, tomorrow we try it out. Heres how it comes apart the is cement 55#.
- TucsonJimExplorer IIIf I was the ranger, I'd charge you for power and water... JK You could have some real fun with that.
- weathershakExplorerPriceless, it would be funny if you could actually make it function. Run a water hose from your low point drain to the spigot (hidden) and a power cord from your inverter to it (hidden) Go out on occasion to get a pot of water or hook up a power tool to it.
You may have already done it. Have fun, it will definitely turn some heads. :) - Golden_HVACExplorer

Reminds me of a story... I had reserved an electric site at the Wichita Mtns WildLife Refuge in Medicine Park, OKLA one trip but when I got there they were all taken. Being I was already setup for camping off the power grid it wasn't a big deal to me anyway so I just setup in a good spot mixed in with the tent campers
So here I sit with my POPUP with all my outside lights on, extension cords running to the picnic table, fan running on us sitting around the bonfire, HDTV antenna up, doing all the things we normally do at a regular electric site.
When it finally got dark I am fully lit up outside and as I look around the neighborhood all I see is battery lights and candles moving around inside the tents and maybe a couple of gas lights on.
Off to bed we all go... The next morning I was up poking the fire to take the chill off and finally one of the tent camper guys walks over and says "I just gotta ask - how do you do all of this... There is no electric here in this side of the camp ground at all..." Jokingly I say MAGIC BEANS... Then of course he gets the grand tour of my battery banks and inverters etc...
Your POWER PEDESTAL would have been great to have sitting there with my shore power cable plugged into it and water connection made... haha...
the fun we all want to have huh!!

Well if you had the pop up plugged into the fake power panel, the campers next door would not have ever seen your solar panels, they would have reserved that site next time, thinking they would arrive to 120 volt power!
I only wish that Yosemite would install 30 amp services to all their campsites, then outlaw generators in the valley.
Fred.
PS: I have had a 400 watt solar system since 1999, smaller one before that. - RoyBExplorer IIReminds me of a story... Roy Ken - Caboose66ExplorerI don't care who you are... that right there is FUNNY!!
- Alfred622ExplorerI'd love to see the look on a ranger's face if you're boondocking in a NFS camping area and he sees your post with electric/hose going into your RV! The look would be priceless!!!
