Same here.

Actually tried the manual jack handle once when leaving very early, and it was only slightly better. The gear/motor mechanism must be pretty sloppy.

Unless you want something fancy, I would go with one with the same or greater rating of your manual model; which ever comes on sale.

I stayed with a manual model, it cheaper and easier to install.

I found that the #3500 jacks was a bit larger in diameter than what I had. I got the #3000 rated jack and it's been working great for 10 years now.

As far as speed goes, the faster it goes, the less weight it's going to be able to lift.. Just like trying to start off in 3rd gear from a stop light..

Always verify existing jack diameter before ordering, some larger rating jacks might not fit hole size, just sying.

My new (2015) trailer came with an electric tongue jack (2nd trailer; 1st electric tongue jack) and it is beyond S L O W ! !

Are all electric tongue jacks really slow, or is mine like a cheap, low-end model, which means I'll just have to keep whistling Dixie while it raises enough for the WD bars?? I'd love to get one that's at least a little faster...

In a manual tongue jack, sure, and one can even buy a 1000 lb rated version. My error....I'm seeing electric jacks starting at 2,500 lbs. capacity. My point was that with his trailer, and electric jack he buys will be more than enough to handle his trailer.

A 3500 lb jack of the brand of your choice will serve you well.

Get the biggest one you can afford. I recommend the Barker brand.
You might have a larger trailer one day and will already have the tongue jack.
