Hello, just purchased a 2025 Heartland Corterra Travel Trailer. First time using it, cannot seem to get my electric water heater to work. Works fine with the propane but the electrical side does not work. Fuses and breakers are good. Any recommendations.
Some water heaters have an additional switch outside that must be turned on for electric to work (sometimes partially hidden behind the propane line/controls). It's like a maintenance switch next to your homes furnace. You can google this and see possible locations.
This is probably it. I have a switch on the breaker box AND a switch on the outside at the heater itself.
Did you turn on the electric side of the water heater without any water in the tank, even momentarily? If so, you burned out the electric heating element.
I would return to dealership for warranty repair.
Have you checked the element? Might be burnt out.
