electrical service size (amperage)

So... while reading another thread here, it got me wondering what size service (30 or 50 amp) is on my new trailer. I haven't taken delivery yet so I can't check the unit itself and its not something I paid that much attention to when purchasing.
The trailer has the upgraded 15k BTU AC and convection micro (not sure if that's higher wattage). The description of the trailer says that the inverter size is 55 amp... does that mean it has a 50 amp service size or is the inverter amperage immaterial to the AC service size.
Stupid question I know and I'm sure I could find out with a call to the dealership. I was just wondering what y'all thought.

Thanks, Dean

  • Oops.. yes, it is the CONVERTER size that is 55 amps, not inverter. Sorry for the brain f@rt.

The trailer is a Cruiser Viewfinder Signature 28BHSS.

I assume it is a 30 amp as well as I don't imagine they just arbitrarily put 50 amp services in these without special order. Just wanted to see if that converter size was an indication that they built it with the upgraded service.

Will have it Sunday night, so I will know for sure after that.

    Thanks everyone.
  • According to a previous post, you bought a Cruiser RV Viewfinder model 28BHSS. According to the manufacturer's website, you have a 55 amp CONVERTER, not an inverter. Also, since this is an entry level trailer, I bet you have 30 amp service.
  • Are you sure the "inverter" is 55 amp. or the "Converter"? All trailers have a converter, converting 120 volts AC to 12 DC. You would have to order the "inverter" if you wanted it. It converts 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC. If your new trailer only has one air conditioner it is probably 30 amp.
