Additionally, is that piece of work (the horrid caulking and edge molding/trim fitment) on a NEW camper? If it is, this looks horrid.

I am going by experience... lots of it... having owned my leaky camper for ten years..... It's got a water leak that pools the water in this corner inside the camper. That's all I have to say about that. Use the magnet on those fasteners and you'll find not so noble metals along with it.
