on of my older trucks I bolted a piece of 2.5 square steel stock tubing to the bump stop bracket and then bolted the low profile bump stop to the tube

I have the 2 1/2" ones and I filled the opening/voids in mine with some polyurethane caulking. Took a couple weeks to dry through to the center, but they work great. You could probably use some 2 part epoxy that would cure much quicker. They work much better when they dont compress.

Mine barely make contact but it you need them not to compress much, I think you need solid ones like the stabileloads.

"Bump Stop" - vs - "overload engagement"
Two different things.
When the bump stop is engaged the full weight of the camper is directly on the axle.

Yeah, converting them to solid is the way to go or maybe some spacers under them (2 1/2 inch ones) to engage an inch sooner.

Thanks for the ideas. Torklift makes great products, but not spending $200 for 4 pieces of rubber. I'll figure it out with what I got in hand.

I also started with Energy Suspension stops and switched to StableLoads. Although they gave better unloaded ride on rough roads (no overload slapping), they compressed too much before getting the full benefit of my overload spring. Since I have a F250, it sits 2" lower in the rear than the F350. It may still be an option for those that have "rear high" trucks when unloaded, but mine is almost level.

I looked at the taller ES stops, but felt they were too narrow and would flop over as the overload spring engaged. Your photo validates my concern - These should only be used in vertical application with no side forces. They may be useful as axle bump stop replacements.

Well about a week ago I got a PM from Torklift stating they saw my post on here and offered me a free set of stable load uppers for my truck for honest feedback. Well......I said yes!

I was pressed to get them quickly because I was going on a week long camping trip with my new boat in tow and wanted to try them out badly. Well they shipped them over night and got them to me in time to try them out, awesome.

Report-They work great. I had full overload spring engagement much sooner than the energy's and was able to add about 12 psi more in my airbags, raising my rear.

They are a very quality product that were super easy to install.

I would say the only negative I have is their price point, turned me off in the beginning. I did end paying for 2 different sets of energy's that are not being used now though, so guess I should have just shelled out the $200 in the beginning for the product that works.
