5.0 is a very good engine. I'd prefer that to any forced induction engine for long term durability, except the I-6 Cummins. Just my .02, I'm an old school country hick. If it ain't got 8, it ain't great. Lol.

If you're using the GVWR of the trailer as your guide (good idea) the tongue will be at a MINIMUM 680 pounds. Travel Trailer tongue weights are recommended to be between 10%-15% of the actual towed weight of the trailer w/ 12-13% considered ideal.

So that would put you in the range of 816-884 pounds of tongue. Possibly higher if you end up tongue heavy in your load out.

You are a little confused, the 9,600 for 150 is tow rating, not GVWR. The 6,850 is the 150 GVWR. The 250 does have a 10K GVWR. The 5.0 with 3.55 should work fine for that trailer.

You don't need a HD truck for a 6000 lb loaded trailer. If you want one that's totally fine, but it isn't necessary.

Somethings screwy. I'm Shopping F-150's online now at my local Brandon Ford. Both the 5.0 and V-6 twin turbos window stickers are showing only 6,850 GVWR with the 3:55 rear gear and towing pkg.

Ford towing website showed 9,600-10,000 GVWR's?

May have to move up to the tank like F-250 with the sucky MPG when not towing. They show 10,000 GVWR on the window sticker.

I'm sure you will be fine, those numbers are well within the capabilities of that truck. The 5.0 is a great engine and you have a light trailer and are packing relatively light. I'd suggest a good WDH, I like the Equalizer. Not sure what tires you have on the F150, but I would encourage you to consider some LT tires, load range D or E for stiffer sidewalls. That will certainly help the truck feel more planted.
