Bugs, I have the same awning you do, and it can be a be a bear at times too. The binding is primarily caused by all the dirt that collects in the supports I believe. There is no permanent fix for it, being on the back of the camper. I've noticed it works best when the supports are clean, so I have been known to hose the rear of the camper down prior to rolling it out.
If you want to go to the trouble, you can also apply some car wax to the supports, especially the surfaces where they slide against each other. Something that goes on and comes off easily, and can be applied to just about any material like Turtle Wax Ice would be a good choice, and it will help the dirt rinse off easier too.
We don't use our awnings often, but I'm still glad they're there.
