Took the rig to the CAT scales to gethe my numbers.
The truck came in at 5,640lbs, and the trailer scaled at 9,046lbs, with all axles well below ratings. The freshwater tank is showing half full, and besides food, clothes, a cooler, and a few odds and ends, I don't see adding much more to the trailer.
The hitch weight was showing close to my 1,320lbs hitch ratings, but I'm not sure how to calculate to get the correct numbers.
I came across my first frontal wind gusts from an incoming storm, and that was the first time I felt the rig move the truck. It didn't blow me out of the lane or anything, but it moved the trailer enough that it wobbled the rear. I would say 25-40 mph gust before the rains came.
I'm not accustomed to trailer movements when towing, and in fact, I'm not used to driving a truck period, so I can't compare how it would have responded when not towing.
The rear has a gentle or lazy/slow up and down over bridge joints that I'm getting use to, but I think that is normal towing movement.
I can say, that it was gusty and the tandem tractor trailer ahead of me was either distracted, or was fighting the winds, because he was all over his lane. I stayed behind him because I didn't want to get up to a high enough speed in order to pass him.
Cars, trucks, and big rigs push/pull are a non event with this setup, and its a one hand on the wheel with the other arm on the arm rest affair...definitely not a tight grip on the wheel setup.
