Pro tip here champ, the XD is still a 1/2 ton where the rubber hits the road and a 3/4 ton lite for the rest of the drivetrain.
I do love seeing unbiased reports like Mr Maury’s who admittedly with little to no truck and trailer experience actually felt that a 1/2 ton truck was able to do its job and that he was comfortable with it.

It has nothing to do with brand names but everything to do with inertial mass, geometric dimensions, speed and tire cornering stiffness. Any truck with a 1,000lbs higher mass on the front axle and 500 on the rear means higher stability. That extra mass produces higher cornering stiffness at the front and rear tires and maintains the COG of the vehicle further forward. This is the laws of physics and fact regardless of how inane you think it is. I seriously do wish Maury82 safe travels and happy camping.
