Does that even matter on a half ton, though? The 18" tires on my truck are rated for 3640 lbs each, which is way beyond what you'd need for any half ton.
Looking at the Ford truck specs those trucks that come with the 20” wheels also have higher payload ratings than those with 18” wheels. Just depends on how much weight you want to carry. Don’t know about the other brands.
