- boomersooner198Explorer2016 F150 3.5l V6 Ecoboost 4x4 with max towing package (max tow is 12,700). Towing a 2011 Coachmen Catalina 24FBS. About 27 feet in length and weighs in around 7,000 pounds. Just got home from Myrtle Beach today and it tows like nothing is behind it. However it seems to drink a little more gas than my 2010 4.6l V8 when towing.
- dthfsaExplorerWe are now pulling a Laredo 331BH with a 2014 EB max tow crewcab short bed. 38' long from hitch to bumper. Combined truck and trailer running around 15,300 lbs (Cat Scale). The truck pulls good, not great. We have taken it from Ohio to Wisconsin and back. Plenty of HP, a slight issue with sway/wiggle. Much better with the correct bars on the hitch, have narrowed some problems down to the P tires. Looking to upgrade to better tires in the spring since this year is winding down. We only have a few short trips planned.
We are using a Blue Ox sway Pro with 1500 lbs bars. - DwnSthExplorerTruck and TT in sig. Trailer scales out about 7300 - 7500 lbs. depending on packing. Equilizer 12K. Towed it through flat and mountains, winds and rain, absolutely no problems and tows wonderfully. As I mentioned in other posts, the only limit I'm ever close to is the hitch weight. I use a Sherline scale to keep things in line but pretty good keeping it under 1100 lbs. I see others posting towing MPG at 11.5 or better. I'm always between 9.5 and 10.5.

About to purchase a new Hideout 25RKS (about 6000 lbs dry) and a 2016 Ecoboost with max tow package. This will be our first TT and I want to make sure I have a truck that can handle it. From what I read here, it seems the 3.5EB, properly equipped with towing package, can handle this trailer. Thanks for everyone's input.
Won't be a problem. Mine pulls my 4000 pound Hideout as fast as I want to go on any grade. - KrowNBExplorerAbout to purchase a new Hideout 25RKS (about 6000 lbs dry) and a 2016 Ecoboost with max tow package. - King27ExplorerPowerdude, you are correct. I was concerned that I might be over leaving Alaska and did not weigh until we were around Kansas. I was still just barely under after filling up with a full tank of gas.

In 2012 we towed a 35' travel trailer that weighed 11,200lbs loaded to Alaska and back with a 2012 F150 Ecoboost HD 7 lug wheels. It pulled great but seemed a little light in crosswinds.
I was hoping to hear from someone towing at it's limits
That is pretty close to the max limit, within 100 lbs of it. That year was rated for 11,300lbs.
towing guide here - Goldstar225Explorer2014 F-150 supercrew 4X4 ecoboost with max tow. Outback 277RL @ 9,000 pounds loaded/35 feet hitch to bumper. I'm using a 12,000# equal-I-zer hitch. I have never had sway despite towing in a storm with 30-35 mph crosswinds or meeting and passing semis. Pulling power is plentiful. It's adequate for the places I tow in but I would never take it to true mountain terrain.
- dragr1ExplorerDrove a 2014 F150 4x4 the other day and I was very disappointed, extremely vague steering and very soft suspension just doesn't suit my taste, so unless that's just what the company wants me to have I'm gonna push for a Ram 2500 as my new company truck
- goducks10ExplorerNot an Eco Boost but a 2010 5.4 6sp. Mine clunk almost every time on the 2-1 down shift. I took it in twice. 1st time they flashed the tranny and said drive it for a week to let it reprogram it's self. 2 weeks latter I took it in for the same 2-1 bump/clunk. Took a tech for a test drive. He had no clue what was causing it and said don't worry you're still under warranty and if something breaks then we'll know what the problem was. Really?
Anyway good luck to those with the tranny clunk.
