So far he has ignored us with that question or he doesn't understand how serious it is to over load Fords 9.75" semi float rear axle with just one small bearing at the end of the axle...... or any semi float rear axle.
Ford rates the '13 9.75" axle at 3850/4050/4800 lbs depending on springs/tires and wheel selections. I've yet to find the axle mfg rated capacity for the semi floater. Exceeding that number isn't a wise choice in the long run.
I totally agree. Lots of folks don't look at the semi/full floating aspect of a truck's carrying ability. IMHO I would not put a camper on a semi floating axle. I don't want the axle passing me on the hwy when it breaks. As important as rear axle weights and rear wheel weights are, axle make up is more important.
