Go to a certified master brake ASE mechanic and quit messing around with Internet
Advice...which does not have many certified master brake ASE mechanics...
Their state board license and ASE certification are on the line when they touch
and charge you a fee for their work, which should include a guarantee of some sort
Too many components and sub systems involved to diag well over the Internet and
this really needs a hands on to even come close
Dealers may have one on staff and the service writer normally is NOT
certified...they can make more money as a ASE master mechanic...and...
it could still be related to that recall...
If anything, have an independent ASE Master Brake Mechanic check it out
and provide a written estimate of both what is wrong and cost...then
take that to the dealer...asking...no demanding...their ASE Master
Brake Mechanic to do the work...if they do NOT have one on staff...then
demand they send it out to an ASE Master Brake Mechanic to do the work
Put them on notice that since they touched it, returned it to you without
fixing it...it is still on their liability hook...then ask them for
the contact for their insurance company...print this out for them if
they resist...hope you kept all your receipts for work done...
Braking is one of the most important aspects of any vehicle...

It's been a while since I posted but we continue to have brake issues with our 2012 F150. At low mileage the front rotors needed to be replaced. We've had continual problems with the brakes not pressurizing correctly on start-up of the vehicle-brake pedal goes right to the floor until it's pumped a few times. We had the vacuum pump recall done which alleviated the strange noise we were getting but the brakes continue to have the same issue. When the truck is not running the brake pedal doesn't budge at all. My experience on previously owned F150s is there's at least a little bit of play when you depress the pedal upon starting the engine. Thoughts? It's going back in the shop next week and any suggestions on what direction in which to guide Ford would be helpful as the service advisor seems a bit clueless. Thanks.
