It may not be lying, but haven't you seen the ads that claim huge towing ratings for half ton pickups? The devil is in the details, which they gloss over in the ads. Towing a test weight which has little frontal area is a long way from towing a ten foot tall thirty five foot long travel trailer. You are correct, it is not lying to brag how it can "tow 11,000 pounds".
