I think we need a separate topic selection just for F150's:)
I agree 100%. Then then rest of us won't have to continually hear a bunch of Ford owners expressing their opinions of their truck being the only one worth buying.
But they ARE the only half ton worth buying.....
Yep, and most of truck buyers agree. - catfishmontanaExplorer

I would agree with you whole hardly, BUT that package is still a small percentage of all F150's, that and you need a masters degree in configuring a F150 it has 20 different GVWR from 6,400# to 8,200#, AND 23 GCVWR between 10,400# and 17,100#, with all three of those axles ratings. There is also multiple tow ratings between 5,500# to 11,300. Most are still ordered with Max tow rating, but not Max payload. It would be interesting in seeing the sales figures by payload for the F150.
Just ONE of the many things that make them special and also make "blanket statements" about their capability or lack there of, moot. - Water-BugExplorer II

It seems lately as though there are 2-3 new threads started about F150's. I was being somewhat sarcastic with my question. Nothing against F150's, heck I've owned 3 with two being in the last 4 yrs. If I was to downsize it would be another F150.
- n7bsnExplorerIf you mean the new model introduced Monday there are at least two more on this forum
- mhsmithExplorerForgot to mention that the biggest, baddest diesel is pulling a pop-up:)

LOL.
The Ecoboost F150 HD with the 8200 GVWR and 4800 RAWR package and E tires and wheels with a 10k-11k tow rating and payloads up to 3000 lbs depending on cab selection is hands down the current top of the heap in the 1/2 ton catagory so sure some folks just don't get it. Their still hung up on the older std duty F150 specs like a 6600-7000 GVWR with 3600-3900 RAWR and 1500 lb payloads with P tires and.
IMO one of the most ignorant comment on the planet is "a F150 is just a grocery getter and shouldn't pull a 5th wheel trailer".
The F150 is what it is and that is a very capable tow vehicle ..... for the size trailer its rated to pull or loads it can carry.

They are in their own class. One step up. From everything else. :)
LOVE IT!!
Like some here have said before..."if you haven't pulled with one, you don't know". They fit a very good need for those of us who want to pull our trailers where we want, when we want and still have a daily driver. Not everyone can afford the biggest, baddest diesel truck around and another smaller vehicle to drive to work and what not. It just makes sense in the long run. For me, I hope it's another 10 years. - TerryallanExplorer II
