F150 vs. F250 we bought a Ram!!!!

Hi Folks!

If you read my previous post from 3 weeks ago I was the one with the F150 and TT that overheated the tranny. Even though our dealership AND rv dealership assured us we could tow that 6500 lb TT....it couldn't do the job :( We are new to camping with a TT and I swear I did my research but it was too much for our beautiful Ford F150 :( after looking at Fords, Chevys, and Dodge we decided on the Dodge Ram 3500. She's a BEAST and we are really happy with our purchase!!! Can't wait to tow next weekend. No more roll backs giving us a lift home......I hope!!!!

    We didn't have an option of locking out OD! We pushed tow/haul mode and kept it in drive. We did not have OD option on the F150

    Wierd, I thought 3.42 was the only axle ratio available in a single rear wheel truck, 2500 or 3500. :h

    3.73 tells me it's a dually (dual rear wheels).

    Now if you can tell me if the yellow transmission dip stick is on the drivers side under the hood, or the passengers side, I can tell you which engine version you have :).

    Inquiring minds wanna know! :)

    Passenger side = 370hp/800tq



    Drivers side = 385hp/850tq

    She's a 6.7 Cummins Turbo Disel with Exhaust Brake. 3.73 rear Axel Ratio 180 amp alternator. I will post pics tomorrow! Doesn't drive as smooth as the F150 but I'm guessing that's because she's a diesel. She purrs like a lion though!!!

    I have a 2013 Dually crew cab with 7400 miles on it and love it as you will to. Mine is a longbed with the Aisin 6 Speed auto with 3.42 gears
