I have to agree with M GO BLUE. That is a lot of trailer. I know people tow with small trucks all time, I used to too! Then I found the 3/4 ton. Started with F250 5.4?Triton pulling a 27' @ 7500#. Good engine. Granted it was a 2000 model and technology has come a long way, but at highway speed it was a constant 3000rpm. On a decent trip, I could always count on spending at least half a day getting at least one power pack and spark plug replaced. THEN I FOUND 3/4 TON DIESEL; HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY! Now I pull a 36' @ 9200-9500#, depending on the length of trip, and turn 1600rpm. Hill? What hill! Blowin' in the wind? Not me! Get in a city and need to change lanes from a dead stop? Nothin to it if I can keep from spinning the tires. Need to stop in a hurry?, straight and quick. Whatever engine you get, please seriously consider the 3/4 ton. There is a huge difference in the frame, brake size, suspension setup and much bigger differentials.
