Ford F150 Eco- boost.

Our family just camped at Disney world for the long Labor day weekend. I just wanted to post my numbers for those who might be interested in the Ford ECO. Total trip was 135 miles and by the computer we averaged 10.2 MPG.

I tried to maintain 65 mph but found myself running at or over 70 several times. At 65 mph I was at approx. 2000 rpm's . This was our first towing trip with the ECO and is was a noticeable difference from our prior truck.

I need to dial in my Equal-i-zer hitch ( I eyed it up from my prior truck, but it needs adjusting).

Anyway, great weekend with friends, and very impressed with the ECO.

I am aware (but thanks for the reminder) of the 65mph tires.

After two blowouts on two consecutive trips, I am more aware of this than ever, even though I tow around 61-62 MPH.

It was really hard to keep the speed down with the comfort, quiteness, and smoothness of this truck.

I simply pushed the tow / haul button and let the truck do the rest.

There's another button on the steering wheel for cruise control. ;)

  • Very happy with the ECO on our first trip using it pulling our TT. The tow mirrors and built in brake controler worked fantastic.

My TT dry weight is stamped at 5747 lbs. but Im pretty sure (not weighed) I'm at approx. 6500 lbs. rolling down the road. I am aware (but thanks for the reminder) of the 65mph tires. It was really hard to keep the speed down with the comfort, quiteness, and smoothness of this truck.

Glad to hear your happy with the Eco!! I'm towing a 33' trailer thats around 7500lbs and averaging 10-10.6mpg. But I stay between 60-65mph. Five to ten mph can make a big difference in your mileage. Keep in mind that trailer tires are only rated for 65mph. I couldn't be happier with this truck. Wait until you tow up some mountains! Thats when you will really notice a difference from your prior truck!! ;)

We're looking at replacing our piece of******Chevy truck. I need something to pull a 2 horse trailer with horses, tack, a couple of people and other assorted gear.

Do you know the GCWR for your F150?
The GCWR for a max tow pkg equipped F150 is 17,100lbs and a max tow rating of 11,200lbs. More than enough for a two horse trailer..

I would get a 3/4 ton truck for that duty.

Me too! Way more power than the 5.3 Chevy I had before. Love my Eco!

That's what it's all about. Having a good time.
