Frankly, it is too bad Ford and GM/dodge etal are not offering an equal motor in the 8 lug 25 series setups. Many like you, myself that tote 6-8K trailers with larger families, would find it to be a perfectly acceptable option!

I am hopeful that Ford just provided a couple Ecoboost options to test how they work in real life, and once they determine that it is worth the effort they provide more options. Granted the Ecoboost non towing numbers aren't as high in the real world as people hoped, but they are usually getting higher MPG's than the big V8's are (non towing) and they provide low end torque when towing.
Perhaps Ford will introduce a slightly larger Ecoboost engine in the 250 series that will still get better mileage than the 6.2 (non towing) and will offer higher torque lower in the RPM range than the 6.2. I realize that they market the Super Duty series trucks towards consistently heavy haulers, but there are a lot of people in Marty's situation that just need the payload 12 times a year and perhaps need to drive the truck as a daily or semi daily driver the rest of the year.
