The price of diesel versus gas was considered. The decision to go gas for me and my family was:
Maintenance and repair -not so much cost but we have a family member that works on our vehicles and he doesn't work on diesels
Daily driver - I just like the feel of driving the gas as a daily driving vehicle
Sound - this may sound funny but I have a son that is on the autism spectrum and the hum of the diasel bothered him a whole lot. He hears pitches that most of us don't. So that was the biggest factor.
I have read posts on here from people that have gone west with gas and had an enjoyable experience. I can't comment on that yet as we have not made it that far yet. Sure would like to one day.
Each person should get what they can afford and that they would be happy with.
