F250 gas or diesel?

I've had a 2001 and 2011 diesel mated to a Northern Lite 9.6 (2600#). Now looking at 2017 (owing to lack of reliability with the 2011). I am worried that the gas Lariat with 400 ft/lbs of torque will not be enough. Sure the diesel with 900+ would be fine. But with an added $8,500, not sure I want to go there. Anyone out there hauling a slide in of about 2,500# in the gasser? What do you think?

    Once I towed with diesel, I knew I never wanted to go back. Nothing like the sound of the rumble, rumble, rumble of the diesel engine!

    Gas motor should be enough for any TC. The truck is designed to haul/tow quite a bit more weight than 3,000 pounds. Diesel is just more effortless, lower RPM comfortable power but the Gas engine should get you down the road just fine.
