F250 gas or diesel?

I've had a 2001 and 2011 diesel mated to a Northern Lite 9.6 (2600#). Now looking at 2017 (owing to lack of reliability with the 2011). I am worried that the gas Lariat with 400 ft/lbs of torque will not be enough. Sure the diesel with 900+ would be fine. But with an added $8,500, not sure I want to go there. Anyone out there hauling a slide in of about 2,500# in the gasser? What do you think?
  • Once I towed with diesel, I knew I never wanted to go back. Nothing like the sound of the rumble, rumble, rumble of the diesel engine!
  • Gas motor should be enough for any TC. The truck is designed to haul/tow quite a bit more weight than 3,000 pounds. Diesel is just more effortless, lower RPM comfortable power but the Gas engine should get you down the road just fine.
