F250/350 Rear Squat

My 2012 f350 would drop 1.75" in rear with my 1200 pin cougar lite attached and 200 pound hitch.
With my new toy hauler in around 2750 pin it drops 2" excactly as the spring rate is progressive.
I did read the 250 without the top overloads that are standard on 350 do appear to sag with 2000 or so in the box?... Can't confirm .
With a 10,000 trailer you are fine.

Thanks. The issue I have is that my older truck (2004), the bed is not as high as the new trucks are. Every year they appear to be building them taller. With the current truck I tow dead level and the bed squats very little. A newer F250/F350 is taller and when backing under, would have less than the ideal 6" clearance. But if the new truck squats 2-3", I think I'd gain that clearance back. However don't want so much squat that the front of the truck is pointing skywards either.

My 2000 f350 SC 4x4 8ft and my 2015 F350 CC 4x4 8ft are = in distance from floor of bed to ground and in bed rail height 20in

If setup right the front of any truck towing a 5th wheel shouldn't raise.
FWIW my 12 Ram 2500 drops 2" with 1800lbs. Front stays exactly the same. Scales prove so.

True. But the 2 inch drop at the rear axle means the nose points higher by about a half degree which also means the headlights are shining about 10 inches higher at 100 feet.

My 10-12k horse trailer has about 3k+ pin weight, so might be a bit more than yours.. My '15 Ram 3500 SRW dropped about 3-4" - which is about the same as our alternate tow vehicle (2015 F350 SRW) does.. I put Timbrens on the Ram to address the 'headlight issue' as noted above.. Note the 3k is well under the legal payload on either vehicle (3900lbs & 3700lbs IIRC)

The later model 350s have a 4" riser block on top of the rear axle. The 250 has a 2" block, so yes, the 350 will have less clearance.

I ordered my 250 with heavy duty service suspension. It only squats an inch or so, with about 2,000 lbs over the axle. I am still towing about an inch and a half nose high. I am glad I don't have the 4" block.

The amount of "DROP" is irrelevant. You want the truck to ride "LEVEL" with a load on or the rear higher then the front NOT lower. People freak out when their truck "Squats" but they are designed to do so.

Pic below is what a truck should look like with a load on. Factory rear air keeps the truck at the proper towing level. Some would add bags to get the rear back to solo ride height. All that does is create a harsh ride.

My 15 F350 squats 2.5" with 4000# pin weight, it handles great, don't tow at night so don't care about headlight aim
