Towing safe, towing legal, and towing within manufactures ratings can be three totally different things. Some states use different regulation requirements for RVs so check those out ahead of of time. In case of an accident a accident investigator will do the math using manufactures ratings to determine if it contributed to the cause. Manufactures make it very clear not to exceed any of they’re ratings. There are indeed lawyers that specialize in accidents involving RVs/ overweight vehicles so this where the most risk and liability comes in.
