Farewell Message...Final Post

We sold our camper today. It was very sad watching it being pulled out of the drive for that last time. :(
I just found out a few weeks ago that I have terminal cancer...3 to 6 months to live. Suddenly priorities have been rearranged, and camping didn't make the 'must do' list.
Anyway, don't feel badly for me because I'm still feeling good and will totally enjoy the time I have left.

I spent well over an hour with the couple who bought our camper and simply amazed and overwhelmed them with my knowledge of my rig and my ability to 'educate' them during our walk through. Remembering back when we got our first camper, like them we knew NOTHING about weight distribution, towing capacity, camper maintenance...NOTHING. Everything we learned, we learned from the good folks at RV.net. I am grateful for this site and don't know how I would have done without it!
I made sure to jot down the name of this site, and the new owners are anxious to join. Thank you all again for the knowledge and wisdom you so unselfishly share with the entire camping community.

  • Prayers for you and your family. Hope you can enjoy these final times to your fullest.
  • Tom,
we are here to comfort you. To give back to you the kindness that you have given to many of us over the years. Many people will feel sadness in their hearts but will not respond because they do not know what to say.
That was nice, that you were able to share your knowledge of your rv with new people who didn't know and are now better educated in the start of their new adventure. That must have given you a feeling beyond words can describe because you had the "time" to do that.
You are a teacher and a true giver of life and you will keep that with you forever.
You have time and that is something that so many people never get to have. We all must treasure the time that we have , for none of us know when that time has come.
I know you said thank you to your friends here at RV.Net but i must say to you, Thank You Tom , thank you for being you.

  • Hi Tom, thanks for letting us know. We hope that you live life to the fullest whatever time you may have. Glad that you found a new owner for your camper.
You take care of yourself and we will be praying for you and your health.
