New truck, new camper and the Fastguns are expensive?:R

Dang those things have gotten expensive. I bought mine when they were much cheaper, but I still had to buy them a pair at a time to keep the boss happy.

Brad, I think if I were needing tiedowns today I would look seriously at the Torklift Springload XLTurnbuckles at $180 a pair. As nice as the fast guns are, you do still have to tweek the adjustments of each one every time you load the camper. It never seems to end up in exactly the same spot, and that affects how long each tiedown needs to be.

Oh, and yes.....go with four springloaded turnbuckles no matter which type you choose.

I'm thinking of adding derringer handles to my current HJ tiedowns. I finally got my hands on the proper 2 sprung/2 unsprung setup (for free fiddy!) and the camper rides MUCH nicer in the truck. Even if I have to tweak them every time I load the camper, the way I see it is that the preload will be more consistent with them than eyeballing 1/4" on top of pre-existing witness marks.

All I can say is I don’t regret them.

I found set on CL for $120 but I was looking for something else and when I found them, I bought them for long hooks.

HJ sells a very similar looking setup lots cheaper. I happen to have 4 of them. 4 for 250 bucks complete. The TL ones you need a second mortgage.

From a distance you cannot tell them apart and close up. they look the same too. I like them just fine.
