Father/ Daughter truck project update/ oak flatbed pics

We made some good progress over the holiday weekend. The saw mill got the oak cut on Friday. At $69 bucks I think it was good deal. We got the bed assembled and sanded. Floor boards are rabbited. Lights are hooked up. Next up is the fuel filler hole the finish coat. Thinking of going clear marine varnish. It will darken the wood slightly. My daughter cant wait to drive it. I will post pics after we apply the varnish.

  • This brings back memories of my fathers '69 Chevy that a wooden bed. He replaced the rusted out bed with a wooden one. I learned to drive a manual in that truck. That was 30 years ago, ahh the memories.

Your daughters truck is looking good. She'll be proud to own it.
  • Good job. That's a neat project.

Your daughter will be driving the only Woodie in the area. :)

I wonder if the younger generation is familiar with woodies?

Thanks for sharing. Please keep us updated on the project.
