Fear of modifications...

Depends on the wall construction of your RV. Nt all RVs have studs that are in convenient locations for you to use, and in some cases the studs my be steel. Short hollow wall anchors are usually the way to go, and you have to bear in mind the weight being suspended and make allowance for the trailer motions. A rule of thumb I use is to only load the fastener with half it's rated load, and if you are attaching to a wall tht has a styrofoam core then you are basically attaching to just the inside surface which can be like 1/8" thick, so the applied load would be lower.

I have installed many items using short hollow wall anchors with good results, so it can be done but you have to be careful.
